Mission:
Prologue: Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow
Location: Sickbay | Bellwether Station
ON:
Gypsy had finished with the boisterous CO. She’d gotten rid of the silks and materials, which he’d no doubt make into some fascinating creation but as she went about things and gathering her group to leave, she thought of a fun little prank to play on him and left him a little gift as a reminder of his time in sickbay as a nurse.
She grinned as she made her way to the little sickbay peering inside. She wondered what the CO’s face would be like. She arrived in sickbay and smiled a different smile as she saw the good doctor puttering about cleaning.
Taking a moment to collect herself she said, “Excuse me Doctor Tanaka?”
Tanaka looked up. “Oh, Ms. Midnight. Come in. How can I help you?”
Gypsy stood there a moment just observing her, she always saw herself as a people reader and some of what she was reading from the good doctor was, to quote a Vulcan, fascinating,. She held up her wrist. “It’s been giving me issues and I wanted it looked at one last time before we left.”
Tanaka stood there a moment and then gave a nod. “Please, have a seat.” She motioned to the bio-bed and then picked up a tricorder.
Gypsy, not waiting any longer, sat on the bed and gave the doctor her wrist.
She had to fight hard to stay silent as the doctor worked. As Tanaka worked it told Gypsy a lot about the woman, just her motions, which were graceful and calculated, not a gesture or motion waisted.
“Well Doctor Tanaka? What’s the verdict?”
“Hmmmm. The bone hasn’t knitted properly. If you will wait a moment I will get an osteo knitter.”
“A what?”
“A new device used on Vulcan that will help, It will not be painful and it’s designed for ankles and wrists.”
Gypsy just shrugged. “I’m in your hands Doc.” Saying that sent a shiver through Gypsy. Tanaka was a very good looking woman and Gypsy appreciated good looking women.
“Indeed.” Tanaka turned and headed to one of the alcoves. She pulled out a small bracelet like device and slipped it around her wrist. “This is the wrist version of it. You will notice a small amount of heat.”
Gypsy said nothing but allowed the doctor to do her healing all the while studying the woman. She was tall, not too slender, curvy but in the most delicious way. She had these intense blue eyes that were like the Betazoid sea. That reminded her. “So Doc…your name is Japanese is it not?”
Tanaka raised her delicate eyebrow in a Vulcan manner. “Indeed.”
Gypsy smiled. “Yet you’re not Japanese.”
“No, I am Betazoid.”
That was odd since Gypsy sensed nothing telepathic from the woman…or at least nothing Betazoid strength.
“Oh. I’m half Betazoid, half human.”
“Indeed, your scans confirm that.”
Gypsy chuckled. “There is a story there. I can sense it.”
Tanaka shrugged and then turned to the sensors. “Another few minutes.”
“What’s the story?”
“Madam I don’t even know you, my personal life, is my own.”
Gypsy’s eyebrows raised. It appeared that the blossom had some bite to her. “I see, I’m just trying pass the time, make conversation.”
“Indeed, a human habit that is most illogical. Pointless conversation is only waisted words.”
Gypsy’s eyes sparkled in amusement. “I guess so.” The woman was very Vulcan in her manner. The heat was getting intense and Gypsy winced.
Tanaka noticed and took he wrist. “It will only be uncomfortable for a moment longer.”
Gypsy was surprised by the soft kind touch so in contrast to the woman’s words just a few moments ago. She was also taken aback how her senses seemed to flare to life when Tanaka touched her. Perhaps not so untelepathic. Gypsy realized she was holding her breath and forced herself to take a breath. It didn’t help that Tanaka was rubbing soothing circles on her wrist that were anything but soothing; they only served to make Gypsy’s heart thump faster in her chest.
Soon the device powered down and Tanaka slipped it off her wrist. She watched as the doctor’s firm but soft hands explored her wrist. It was not an unpleasant feeling, in fact it was…stimulating. Gypsy shook her head to clear the haze of desire that was starting to form. She blinked and then when Tanaka released her she hopped off the bed trying to give herself a little distance from the attractive woman. “So all good?”
“Yes, there should be some weakness for a day or so but it is healed.”
Gypsy tested her wrist. “Um…thanks.” She was about to turn and then she noticed something that had not been there earlier, a painting, there in the corner. “A Cherry Blossom tree.”
Tanaka looked up as if she’d already expected Gypsy to be gone and then shrugged. “Indeed. I am named for it, with my middle name.” She turned and left, heading into her little office.
Gypsy stayed there a moment and then grinned. “Well doctor, we’ll meet again, I’m sure of it.” She turned and headed back to her shuttle to do some research, she also had to deliver her guest to where he belonged and make a notation of the good Bolian’s information which would net her a bounty she’d been unable to capture for a while now.
