Mission: Ninety-Nine Bottles of Swill
Location: Medical
Timeline: Current

ON:

Crawling through maintenance shafts to explore the inner workings of the station and, most importantly, to compile a to do list which could already wrap several rings around her body; Ensign Astor was beginning to worry she had bitten off even more than she could chew. Clearly upgrades had not been a consideration for the small relay station and her predecessor had to make do with whatever was available.

The result, however, was a number of workarounds which definitely were not considered 'by the book'. They worked. Just not in the way Starfleet had designed them to.

Scribbling notes for her own sanity as she studied one such repair effort, the operations officer added one more note to the bottom of the list before wiping a bead of sweat from her forehead. Check E.C. That done, came the mission to extract herself from her current precarious position. Namely hanging upside down with one leg looped through a support strut to stop her falling. Space was at a premium on the station, especially here, but with a great deal of effort she was soon back on her hands and knees and crawling towards the nearest hatch.

After so long exploring the innards of the station, even the corridor felt like a wide open field. Standing for a moment she took in a few deep breaths and reached for her uniform jacket, slipping it on and surprised when it felt painful brushing against her shoulder. Extracting her arm she twisted awkwardly and saw she had cut it, but it didn't look recent. Another gift, she supposed, from her time on the transport ship from hell.

Noticing it looked somewhat fiery she sighed, leaving the jacket off as she packed up her kit and returned it to the engineering bay to venture off in search of Sickbay. She'd have to go sooner or later and now it seemed she could kill two birds with one stone. What was the doctor's name again... Tasuna? Tasanka? No... that wasn't it. She signed, she knew she knew the name but her brain was a fog full of ship schematics and designs and an endless list of repairs that could take her into retirement.

As it was she stepped into the small sickbay and looked around at the seemingly empty room. Huh. Maybe she was getting food or something. Mindful of the instruction - or rather dramatic warning - about the EMH when she had sat down with their CO to discuss the station, she resisted the temptation to dice with death and decided she could come back later. Turning around she had taken a step towards the exit when a voice piped up, almost making her jump out of her skin.

Katsumi was doing some inventory in her little office when she heard the call. Having to toss everything aside was not easy so she was a little late coming out but in time for the woman there not to leave. "Oh yes! You must be Miss Asterix...Astor I mean."

“Ensign Astor, yes,” she nodded in agreement, one foot over the threshold of the open door. She pulled it back to let the door closed as she turned to face the older woman. “Pleased to meet you.”

"Good to meet you too. Alright hop up on the main bio bed and I'll pull up your files."

“Sure,” Andrea replied as she took a few short steps and hopped up one of the bio-beds.

Tanaka drew up the woman's medical records. "Alright. Let us start with a scan. Hold still please."

Andrea did as she was asked, letting the woman do her thing. After all, the sooner she was done the sooner she could get back to her ‘to do’ list. “Full disclosure, I got a few scrapes helping repair a transport ship I was on… I think one on my back, just below my shoulder might be infected… they didn’t exactly keep things clean.”

"Indeed, I shall ensure that is taken care of." She looked at the read outs. "How have you been sleeping? Anything else that is bothering you?"

"I sleep fine," Andrea replied with a dismissive shrug, "and no, nothing bother me."

Tanaka sighed but ignored things for now. “Very well, let us complete the medical then.” She was more then happy to work in silence as the clicks and beeps of the machine told her that tests were being done and completed in record time. The station may have been old but the equipment was good and Tanaka had always liked a bit less of the tech. Her diagnostic skills were unparallelled.

The rest of the exam finished and Tanaka sent her patient away knowing that she had a clean bill of health.

She saved the exam result and updated the file making sure to send the station CO a note that this particular crewmember was ready and fit for duty. She then turned to the rest of her task of getting things running and ready.
